Our mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, empower churches to spread His truth, and foster growth in faith through love, compassion, and mutual support among believers. We strive to live out Christ’s command to love God and our neighbors and see all people come to salvation through him.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16
We believe in the power of prayer and know that the Lord is faithful to answer the prayers of his people. Pray for the work we are doing, pray that everything we do will be honoring to God, and pray for the hearts of the people we will be working with, that they will hear the word and receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
In order to complete the work God has called us for, we must have the funding to operate. When you partner with us financially, you can be confident that your money is going directly to the work on the ground in the Dominican Republic.
Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
We want everyone to come be a part of what we are doing in the Dominican Republic. When you come and serve the people, you follow Jesus’s call to go and make disciples of all nations and also support the ministry.
Luke 10:2: He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Michael has lived in Barahona, Dominican Republic, for his entire life. He came to salvation through Jesus Christ at the age of 13. At 16, he began his life in ministry when he went up to the mountain community of Santa Elena and shared the Gospel. For the next several years, he began studying with a missionary to learn more about the Bible and evangelism. He then felt the call to become a pastor at the age of 21 and has been leading a church in Barahona as well as several ministries with a focus on spreading the Gospel and caring for the people in his community for the last 22 years.
As Michael began to pray that God would give him direction on how he should continue his ministry, he felt led to start Be a Blessing. Through this ministry, he continues sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, empowering churches to spread His truth, and fostering growth in faith through love, compassion, and mutual support among believers.
Michael shares his life and ministry with his wonderful wife, Yoselin Terrero, and his three children, Michael, Richard, and Jessica. He is passionate about furthering the kingdom of God, serving God with his whole life, and seeing all of the people of Barahona and beyond come to true salvation through Jesus Christ. He sees his life on Earth as an opportunity to be an instrument for God’s glory and is honored to carry that blessing by love and grace through the Be a Blessing Ministry.
